According to a press release made by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, milk production in October has decreased 11.2% to 962.7 thsd mt. Moreover, in the last ten months, milk output has declined 3.9% YoY to 10.3 mln mt.

InBev, one of the leading global beer producers – second in terms of beer output in Russia and first on the Ukrainian beer market – issued an official press release on its financial results for 3Q08. Its revenues in volume terms declined 10.5% on the Russian market and 8.5% on the Ukrainian market.

Domestic wheat prices in Ukraine are following the global downgrading trend, reaching USD 136.8 per mt of industrial wheat (-53% MoM). As for coarse grain, prices began their downfall much earlier and have reached their lowest marks in three years. Prices for fodder wheat slipped to USD 105.3 (-12% MoM), while corn ended up at USD 87.7 (-33% MoM).

Obolon, one of the top three breweries in Ukraine, is going to reconsider its strategic plans for 2009. According to Interfax, the company is going to finish the investments projects it commenced in 2008.

According to Ukrainian News, the Ministry of Ukraine has endorsed import quotas on raw cane sugar in the amount of 263 thsd mt for 2009 and 267 thsd mt for 2010. The Ministry amended article 1 of the law on tariff import quotas for raw cane sugar.

Yesterday the Ukrproduct Group, an independent Ukrainian dairy producer, released its unaudited 1H08 financial results. According to this information, the company’s net revenue increased by 7.7% YoY to GBP 23.6 mln, EBITDA lost 18.6% YoY and amounted to GBP 2.02 mln, and net income fell by 26.8% YoY to reach GBP 1.02 mln.

Domestic feed wheat prices slipped further to reach USD 123.7 per mt this week, as reported by the publication “Delo”. Last week, feed wheat prices bounced between USD 134 and USD 144.3 per mt, which is 17-26% lower than the minimal price set by the government.
