2009
In March the shareholder makeup of ‘Sokrat’ investment group has changed. Roman Sazonov, former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the CJSC ‘FC Sokrat’, has resigned from being a shareholder of the CJSC ‘FC Sokrat’ and has become the sole owner of the ‘Sokrat’ Asset Management Company LLC. According to a decision taken at the General Shareholders' Meeting, Valery Nilov, who previously served as President of the CJSC ‘FC Sokrat’, has become the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the CJSC ‘FC Sokrat’.
2008
Andrey Snegirev appointed Chairman of the Management Board of ‘Sokrat’.
In May ‘Sokrat’ investment group founded ‘Sokrat Asia’ in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
Since April 2008, Sokrat has been a partner to the Vienna Stock Exchange.
Sokrat has set up the following new lines of business:

private banking, offering a broad range of services aimed at creating individual financial strategies, managing securities portfolios, and providing other financial solutions for private, corporate, and institutional customers;

art-banking includes a full package of services to build portfolios (collections) of works of art with an investment quality that accords with individual investment strategies;
—
discretionary Portfolio Management, which includes a range of services aimed at investors who would like to accumulate capital and decrease investment risks.
«Sokrat» broadens the range of services for foreign investors obtained a general license for foreign currency operations.
2007
Sokrat became an official IPO-partner of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). In its partner capacity, Sokrat acts as an investment advisory house to Ukrainian companies that would like to attract investment by means of stock placement.
Sokrat also became an exclusive Ukrainian partner for Global M&A in order to collaborate in raising funds on international capital markets and carry out transactions connected with mergers and acquisitions.
2006
Sokrat signed an agreement for strategic cooperation with the Polish financial company Capital One Advisers, one of the most professional IPO advisors on the WSE.
In addition, the Sokrat Management Company, as a member of the Investment Group, signed an agency agreement with JSC INDEX-BANK, which included advice on ways to invest and acquire investment certificates from the Sokrat Management Company’s Premium range of services at all branches of JSC INDEX-BANK. This event is the first case of cooperation between a banking institution and an assets management company on the financial services market in Ukraine.
2005
The Sokrat Investment Group became a partner of the International Financial Corporation during the First International Forum “Prospects of Ukrainian Companies on IPO Markets”. More than 100 Ukrainian and foreign companies attended the event, including Baker & McKenzie, Clifford Chance, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Wimm-Bill-Dann (Russia), Matáv Group (Hungary), Turkcell (Turkey), and the NYSE.
2004
The Sokrat Investment Group founded Sokrat Capital LLC, a company that specializes in the assessment of businesses, property rights and securities.
2003
Sokrat created a legal entity known as Sokrat Financial Company LLC, a licensed depositary and a member of the Professional Association of Registrars and Depositaries (PARD). The company offers its clients a full range of depositary services as a securities custodian.
The Sokrat Asset Management Company was also founded. It is a licensed company that manages the assets of joint investment institutions and is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Investment Business (UAIB).
2002
Setting a precedent on Ukraine’s insurance market, Sokrat attracted a foreign portfolio investor for a local insurance company. This investor, which was the Polish re-insurer Polish Re, acquired a 25 percent plus one share interest in the OJSC Skide-West. In 2002, this company completed an array of large-scale transactions with controlling and blocking stakes in leading Ukrainian insurance companies, including ASKO-Medservice and Alkona IC.
2001
Sokrat and the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine concluded an agreement on cooperation and partnership in order to attract domestic and foreign investments to the insurance sector; to plan, work out and implement development programs for insurance companies; and to help insurance companies take advantage of various stock market instruments.
2000
Sokrat became an advisor to enterprise-members of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE) in such fields as investor search, fundraising, the issuance of corporate securities, and investing activities. Sokrat established close cooperation with UUIE departments in an effort to improve its legislative base.
