According to an interview to business newspaper Kommersant-Ukraine, Mr. Viktor Chaban, VP of Energy Standard, which controls Sumy Frunze Machine Building [SMASH UZ, N/R], one of largest European producers of equipment for the oil, gas, and chemical industries, the company estimates revenue growth of 10% in USD equivalent in 2009. The reduction of this forecast from 30% is related to energy equipment consumers' postponing their projects.

Lutskiy automobile plant [LUAZ UZ, U/R], which belongs to “Bohdan” corporation, decreased output by 21.5%MoM or on 399 vehicles, to 1456 units in comparison with the previous month. In the first 8 months of 2009 production drop by 81.95% to 10994 cars.

According to a Sumy Frunze Machine Building’s [SMASH UZ, N/R] press service, the companywill supply 54 pump complexes to Novoronezhskoy nuclear station (Russia) through April 2011. The contract was signed in the third quater of 2009 with a value of RUB 154 mln.(USD 5.1 mln.)

Motor Sich [MSICH UZ, BUY], a large aviation engine producer in Ukraine, signed an agreement with Saratov region administration to create a joint venture in Russia to produce gas turbine power stations and gas-turbine drives for compressor stations .

Kryukiv Railcar [KVBZ UZ, U/R] agreed with Ukrzheldortrans to supply 250 freight cars to Ukrzaliznitsya (UZ) in 2009. This deal was concluded on the basis of a loan in the amount of USD 62 mln. from EBRD to purchase the new freight railcars. The size of the loan is equal to approximately to 1400 freight railcars.

Kryukiv Railcar [KVBZ UZ, U/R], will supply 30 metro wagons to Kyiv metro according to a statement issued by the head of the railcar producer's supervisory board. The size of the order decreased from 50 to 30 wagons, mainly due to a lack of financial resources.

According to the Auto-Consulting agency, the Ukrainian new car market saw a significant month to month increase in July when the sales hiked 16%. Still, the car dealers sold 77% fewer cars than in July 2008.

Turboatom [TATM UZ, HOLD] has completed delivery of equipment including a set of six fans for “In Pan” HPP in China. According to the contract, which is valued at EUR 7.5 mln, TATM will produce and supply 4 sets to China HPP.

Turboatom [TATM UZ, HOLD] – the largest power turbine producer in Ukraine – completed delivery of equipment including a spiral box with stator for the first power turbines at La Yesca HPP in Mexico.

Bogdan Automobile Plant [LUAZ UZ, U/R] postponed the construction of its bus plant in Russia.
