June 1, 2010TATM Ships First Hydro Turbine Wheel to Mexican HPP

Turboatom [TATM UZ, BUY], one of the largest CIS producers of turbines for all main types of power plants, has shipped the first hydro turbine wheel for Mexican HPP La Yeska. The diameter of the wheel is 5.3 meters, the weight is 92 tons. Such a shipment is executed within the framework of the earlier signed agreement (signed in March 2008). The monetary value of the agreement is USD $33M. TATM plans to finish production of the second wheel in the current year.

AvtoKrAZ [KRAZ UZ, N/R], a Ukrainian producer of heavy trucks, intends to supply one of the Northern African countries with 200 trucks. The first consignment was dispatched at the end of 2009; currently a consignment of 97 trucks is off-the-shelf.

RZD (Russian Railways) suspended the use of MZVM’s railcars built in 2008 with the “1291” solebars produced by AzovElectroStal. The reason for the suspension is the derailment of seven coal wagons with broken solebars.

Ukrainian Railways, (Ukrzaliznitshya) successfully restructured a syndicate loan of USD 550 mln , the minister of transport reported. The term of the loan has been extended by 5 years. No additional information about the terms of restructurization is available.

Ukrainian producers produced 6 713 pcs of autos in April 2009, 27% higher than in March 2010. The production as a result of 4M10 reached 17 423 pcs, implying the decline of 26% YoY.

Bohdan Motors [LUAZ UZ, U/R], has reported that 1,549 passenger cars were produced in April, 19% more than in May. The Company produced 4,031 cars during January-April 2009 and is targeting a full year production of 22,600 cars. Moreover, the Company produced 99 cars and 2,310 pick-ups, which are, in fact, commercial cars.
