Azovmash, one the largest Ukrainian machinery holdings, has announced that it intends to deliver charging equipment to Dniprovsky Iron and Steel Integrated Works (DMKD UZ) in 2010. Besides this, Azovmash signed an agreement with ALMK for the supplement of large bell and charging equipment parts. Azovmash did not disclose the monetary value of the agreement.

Ukrainian Railways (UR) plans to purchase 2 thsd freight railcars in 2010, reported UR’s press service. Earlier UR adopted a financial plan for 2010 with planned NI of UAH 450 mln and CapEx of UAH 10 bln.

The Bohdan Corporation (represented on the stock market by its production division, Bohdan Motors [LUAZ UZ, U/R]), a leading Ukrainian auto producer, reported the production of 413 buses and trolleybuses in 6M2010, vs. 150 in 6M2009; thus its YoY growth was 175%.

Azovmash, the leading Ukrainian machinery holding, which specializes in freight railcars and metallurgical production equipment, reported sales of about UAH 2 bln during 1H2010, implying growth of 120% YoY. In particular, the company produced 5319 freight railcars (4509 of which are tanks and 770 are gondolas).

AvtoKrAZ [KRAZ UZ, U/R], a Ukrainian producer of heavy trucks, reported 400% growth in output during 1H 2010. The company produced 432 trucks during this period and 13% of sales was domestically-driven; 26% came from CIS and 61% from other countries.

June 30, 2010Ukrainian Railways to purchase LTPL’s rolling stock

Ukrainian Railways (UR) plans to purchase rolling stock at UAH 2.8 bln. According to UR, it will purchase some of LTPL’s locomotives at UAH 1.2 bln, 58 passenger cars at UAH 0.53 bln and 2.3 thsd of freight railcars at UAH 964 mln. The major part of these investments will involve funds raised via loans.

June 29, 2010LTPL intends to supply Mongolia with 13-15 locomotives

Luhanskteplovoz [LTPL UZ, BUY], the leading Ukrainian locomotives producer, intends to sign a contract with the help of Transmashholding (LTPL’s owner) with Mongolian Railways for the delivery of 13-15 locomotives between now and 2011, said LTPL’s CEO, Mr. Bykadorov. He also added that the company is in negotiations with Syria regarding the modernization of locomotives and the delivery of new equipment.

Azovmash, one of the largest Ukrainian machinery holdings that controls both Mariupol Heavy Machinery (MZVM UZ, BUY) and Azovzagalmash (AZGM UZ, U/R) finished production on three aerodrome fuelers for Vietnam. The company noted that the fuelers were already en route to their final delivery destination.

June 21, 2010LUAZ intends to supply Crimea with trolleybuses at USD 50 mln

Bohdan Corporation (represented in the Ukrainian fund market via its production department – [LUAZ UZ, U/R]) reported about UAH 400 mln (USD 50 mln) Crimean tender for the award of trolleybuses. Bohdan and the Council of Ministers of Crimea signed a memorandum, which assumes the Company to produce trolleybuses in the City of Simferopol, Crimea. The Crimean Prime minister reported that the bus plant took part in the tender, as well as Belkomunmash and Lvivskiy bus plant. According to the Prime minister, the project would be financed via bonds issuing.
