Due to artificially low heat distribution tariffs Kyivenergo [KIEN] may suffer USD 80 mln net loss by the end of 2008.

Electricity production in Ukraine for the 7M08 increased 2.5% reaching 115 bln kWh.

Electricity distribution company, Prykarpattiaoblenergo [PREN], announced that amount needed to compensate the damage of electricity lines caused by heavy rainfall and flooding in the western part of Ukraine is estimated at USD 5 mln.

According to the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, industrial electricity tariffs will see a 4.6% increase for small industrial consumers and a 3.9% increase for large industrial consumers in August 2008.

The electricity generation company Centrenergo [CEEN UZ] reported on its 1H08 financials. Net sales increased 41% YoY, amounting to USD 407 mln.

Electricity generation companies Dniproenergo [DNEN UZ] and Zakhidnergo [ZAEN UZ] reported its 2Q08 financials.

Electricity generation company, Donbasenergo [DOEN UZ], reported improved financials for 2Q08. Net sales went up 45% YoY, gross profit increased by 20% YoY improving gross profit margin from 12.4% to 15% YoY.

The wholesale electricity price in Ukraine is expected to increase 41% YoY by the end of 2008, reaching USD 81 per MWh.

According to an announcement by Ukraine’s Fuel and Energy Ministry, Ukrainian electricity export prices will increase 119% during 2008 and 2009 from an average export price of USD 41 per MWh in 2007 to USD 90 per MWh in 2009.

The electricity distribution company, Poltavaoblenergo [POON], reported that its 2Q08 net sales are up by 28% YoY, amounting to USD 72 mln.
