Turboatom [TATM UZ, HOLD] has completed delivery of equipment including a set of six fans for “In Pan” HPP in China. According to the contract, which is valued at EUR 7.5 mln, TATM will produce and supply 4 sets to China HPP.

The Ukrainian government succefully redeemed Eurobonds at the total value of USD 500 mln. (semiannual coupon with floating interest – 6m LIBOR+3.375%). Accounting the last coupon, total sum compounded USD 512.95 mln. In the next two months Ukraine will have to redeem one more sovereign and two sub-sovereign Eurobonds totaling USD 1.5 bln.

Ukraine’s domestic sugar prices rolled over the USD 660 mark, while global sugar prices are above USD 500 per mt.

Turboatom [TATM UZ, HOLD] – the largest power turbine producer in Ukraine – completed delivery of equipment including a spiral box with stator for the first power turbines at La Yesca HPP in Mexico.

As of August 4, 2009 Ukraine has harvested 29.5 mln mt of grain on 10.5 mln ha. The average grain yield increased to 2.81 mt per ha.

Ukrainian News reported on coke production for July, which amounted, according to our estimates, to 1.55 mln mt. This is up 11% MoM, but still 5% below the average 2008 monthly output of 1.63 mln mt, and 9% below the average 2007 monthly reading of 1.72 mln mt.

Ukrainian News reported on pipe production for July. It amounted to 161.3 thsd mt. This is up 13% MoM, but still 23% below the average 2008 monthly output of 208.8 thsd mt.

The Government of Ukraine ordered the Ministry of Fuel and Energy to transfer the state stakes of power distributing companies from Energy Company of Ukraine to the State Property Fund (SPF) for further privatisation.

Power distributing company Khersonoblenergo [HOEN UZ, BUY] ended 1H09 with a net income of UAH 28.8 mln, VS Energy’s press service says. In the first half 2009 HOEN increased net revenues compared to the first half of 2008 by 19.23% to UAH 447.4 mln.

As of July 30, Ukraine’s farmers had harvested a total of 26.5 mln mt of grain from 9.5 mln ha, with an average crop yield at 2.8 mt per ha. The farmers harvested 16.5 mln mt of wheat yielding 3.1 mt per ha and 9.1 mln mt of barley yielding 2.5 mt per ha.
