Zaporizhtransformator [ZATR UZ, BUY], one the world's largest manufacturers of transformer equipment, won the tender for supplying autotransformer to Ukrenergo. The value of the contract is USD 4.2 mln.

Turboatom [TATM UZ, BUY], Ukraine’s largest turbine producer, is to supply new generation K-325 turbines to Kazakhstan Eurasian Energy Corporation. The monetary value of the contract hasn’t been disclosed.

Donetskgirmash [DGRM UZ, N/R], Ukrainian mining equipment producer, posted USD 3.1 mln of net loss in 2009. The full balance sheet and P&L statement hasn’t been published yet.

China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), which combines 119 iron and steel producers of China, appealed to its members to boycott iron ore import from three world biggest iron ore producers BHP Billiton, Vale and Rio Tinto for two months. The organization blames the “big three” for price collusion and iron ore price growth.

Mariupol Illich ISW in March utilized almost 100% of its pig iron capacity, Metal-Courier reported. Last month the Company managed to increase pig iron output by 22% MoM or by 79 thsd tonnes to 433 thsd tonnes.

Ukraine’s egg producer Avangard has announced its plans to conduct IPO on LSE. The listing was due to launch April 6. Avangard is Ukraine's largest egg producer, supplying fresh eggs to the domestic market and egg products for export. The Holding operates 19 farms with more than 16 mln laying hens located in 14 regions of Ukraine. The Company also includes breeder farms and feeder mills. It has 39% market share of industrially produced eggs and 53% for egg products. Avangard exports its products to 156 countries, primarily to Middle East and Asia.

Ukraine’s cokemakers in 1Q10 managed to increase coke output by 13% YoY to 4.55 mln tonnes. This information was reported by Ukrcoke association.

International rating agency Fitch confirmed Kyiv long-term rating in foreign and national currency at B- level with negative outlook. According to the agency the main reasons of such an outlook are increased risks of debt refinancing, currency risks, worsening city budget deficit and decreased liquidity.

Kruykiv Railcar [KVBZ UZ, BUY], leading Ukrainian freight railcars producer and the monopolist in terms of passenger and subway cars producing, is to supply 15 passenger railcars to Belarus, the chairman of KVBZ board Mr. Hvorost said. He also said that KVBZ is in negotiations with Ukrainian Railways about possible 60 passenger railcars and 1 thsd freight railcars supplement.
