Government of Ukraine will restrict grain exports

Кабинет Министров собирается ввести квоты на экспорт зерна из Украины. По информации от основных игроков рынка, ожидается, что квоты на экспорт будут приняты 11-13 октября и введены до конца 2010 года. Ожидается, что квоты будут установлены следующим образом: кукуруза – 3 млн тонн, пшеница – 0,5-1 млн тонн, ячмень – 0,1-0,2 млн тонн. Ранее правительство хотело ввести квоты на уровне 1 млн тонн ячменя, 1,5 млн тонн пшеницы и 0,1 млн тонн ржи.

Agroton [A2TA GR, N/R] will issue IPO by the end of October

Agroton Public, Ltd. [A2TA GR, N/R], a diversified, vertically integrated agricultural producer in eastern Ukraine, will place 26.2% of its shares on the Warsaw stock exchange by end of October. The company is seeking to raise as much as USD 59 mln in the IPO. The offering comprises 5.67 mln newly issued ordinary shares with a maximum price of PLN 30 (about USD 10.5 per share).

NBU foreign reserves increased by 6.1%

Foreign reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) increased by 6.1% in September to USD 34.7 bln, growing by 30.8% from the start of the year.

Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 2.9% in September 2010 pushing annualized inflation to 10.5%.

Bogdan Motors launches production of an extra small bus

Bogdan Motors [LUAZ UK] has announced the launch of production of a new vehicle, the A049 extra small class bus, at the TIR 2010 International truck and commercial vehicle exhibition. The plant plans to produce 130 A049 buses in 2010, with incremental production increases to 300 units per month by 2014. The share of extra small buses on the Ukrainian bus market in 2010 increased to 14% from 11% in 2009.

Luganskteplovoz raises production by 70%

Between January and September 2010, Luganskteplovoz [LTPL UK] increased its production by 70% to USD 67.8 mln. In natural indicators, production reached 42 locomotive sections; 4 more locomotives are to be produced in October for Ukrzaliznytsya (Ukrainian railways).

AvtoKrAZ raises sales by 86.5%

Between January and September 2010, AvtoKrAZ Holding [KRAZ UK] increased sales of trucks by 86.5% YoY to 763 units. Production grew 5.5 times YoY to 644 units. The company is currently negotiating to attract a European partner for designing a new truck.

Ukraine’s electricity consumption and production both down 6% MoM in September

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Fuel and Energy, electricity consumption and production are down 6.2% MoM in September. Cumulative consumption is up 9.8% YoY, and production is up 9.7% YoY in 9M2010.

Verkhovna Rada has refused to impose a moratorium on grain export until 2011

Verkhovna Rada has rejected the proposed legislation, which obliged the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to establish a moratorium on grain exports until January 1, 2011.
