AvtoKrAZ Holding [KRAZ UK] has started serial production of the KrAZ T17.0EH off-road tow truck with maximal caravan weight of 75 ton. The truck can operate at temperatures between -50 to +60 degrees centigrade, at heights up to 5 km above sea level, and can pass through running water of depths up to 1.5m and snow of depths up to 0.6m. The company plans to sell 50 T17.0EH trucks to the northern regions of Russia this year. These trucks will be used for transportation of oil mining equipment in off road conditions.

The national association of sugar producers – “Ukrsugar” – has reported that as of October 18, 2010, sugar plants have produced about 0.71 mln tonnes of sugar, which is 45% more than last year. Since the beginning of the season, sugar factories have received 8.1 mln tonnes of sugar beet, which is 63% more than last year, and have processed 6.3 million tonnes (about 77%). The production has involved 70 plants (last year, 51 plants were involved).

The Cabinet of Ministers has imposed quotas on the export of grain from Ukraine. According to decree №938 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, grain traders are allowed to export 0.5 mln tonnes of wheat, 0.2 mln tonnes of barley, 2 mln tonnes of corn, and 1 thsd tonnes each of rye and buckwheat until 2011.

The Kiev municipal council has adopted a decision to implement changes in its program of preparations for the European football championship in 2012. The changes include purchasing 210 new buses, 210 new trolleybuses, and 46 new tram carriages using municipal budget funds and 185 buses and 185 trolleybuses using funds from the EBRD.

Agricultural companies in Ukraine harvested 37.7 mln tonnes of grain and leguminous crops as of October 13, with an average yield of 2.72 tonne per ha. Agricultural companies processed only 13.9 mln ha of sowing area this season. Agrarians have sown about 7.9 mln ha with winter crops.

According to Vladimir Klimenko, the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association, Ukraine exported 1.7 mln tonnes of wheat, 1.9 mln tonnes of barley, 0.36 mln tonnes of corn, and a total of 4 mln tonnes of grain. According to information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Ukraine exported around 4.5 mln tonnes of grain; specifically: 1.9 mln tonnes of wheat, 2.1 mln tonnes of barley and 0.4 mln tonnes of corn.

Ukrnafta’s oil and gas condensate production was down 3% MoM in September (-12.9% YoY in 9M2010), while its natural gas output decreased by a smaller extent, Interfax reported. At the same time, Ukraine’s total oil and gas condensate production grew a modest 0.9% (but still -10.8% YoY in 9M10), and natural gas output fell 5.7% in 9M10.

According to Interfax, Ukraine’s iron ore exports in 9M10 grew by 24% YoY to 24.7 million tonnes.

During 9M2010 Bogdan Corporation, owner of Bogdan Motors [LUAZ UK] has increased export of buses 2.2 times YoY to 583 units. Share of export in bus sales accounted 83%. MoM bus export increase in September accounted 30%. CIS and Poland remained the largest importers of Bogdan buses.
