The Luhansk-based Stakhaniv Railcar Works [SVGZ UZ, U/R], one of the largest wagon producers in Ukraine and part of the AvtoKrAZ holding, has announced the successful delivery of over 700 metric tons of welded metalware to the Poltava Ore Mining and Enrichment Plant, otherwise known as Poltava GOK [PGOK UZ, U/R].

Yesterday, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has taken Rodovid Bank [RODB UZ, U/R] under provisional administration for the term of one year.

Megabank [MEGA UZ, U/R] is going to increase its statutory fund by UAH 150 mln, from UAH 200 mln to UAH 350 mln through the issue of additional shares at a par value of UAH 1. This decision will be voted on by shareholders on March, 19. The share issue is scheduled to take place March 25-31.

The Smart Holding, a Ukrainian business group owned by oligarch Vadim Novinsky, is in the process of establishing the grain trading company “Sagro”.

A representative of the State Property Fund of Ukraine informed that the state is preparing to sell blocking stakes in five regional electricity distributors: Chernigivoblenergo [CHEON UZ, BUY], Lvivoblenergo [LVON UZ, BUY], Poltaveoblenergo [POON UZ, BUY], Prykarpattyaoblenergo [PREN UZ, BUY], and Sumyoblenergo.

Raiffeisen Bank Aval [BAVL UZ, U/R] announced that it has redeemed an additional USD 150 mln of an overall USD 500 mln syndicated loan, which was attracted in April 2007 for a period of two years at LIBOR +1.2%. As Sokrat earlier reported, BAVL repaid USD 250 mln of this loan on February 13. The loan, as a whole, must be paid by April 19.

During its EGM held on March 13, shareholders of Ukragzbank [UGZB UZ, U/R] decided to ask the state to purchase a stake in the bank.

At its AGM last Friday, the southern Ukrainian electricity distribution company Krymenergo [KREN UZ, BUY] decided to pay out UAH 4.2 mln in dividends for the year 2008.

Mostobud [MTBD UZ, U/R], the largest bridge construction company in Ukraine, announced that it has reported a net income of USD 1.7 mln. This compares to the results of 2007, when the net loss constituted USD 2.8 mln.

Donetskgirmash [DGRM UZ, N/R], a large Ukrainian producer of mining machinery, has produced a net loss of USD 835 thsd (UAH 4.426 mln) in 2008, which is 8.1 times lower in UAH terms or 8.6 times lower in USD terms than reported in 2007.
