Anti dumping duties for Ukrainian pipes imposed in late 2005 expire in December, but Russia has started another investigation in June 2010. On Friday the Ministry of industry and trade of Russia issued a proposition on prolonging duties until 2015, raising rates of duties to just below 20%.

Ukraine’s Real GDP increased by 3.5% yoy in 3Q10 in constant prices of 2007.

The economic court of Kiev shelved the suit of Motor Sich [MSICH UK] against Antonov aircraft plant regarding the replacement of Motor Sich engines with Russian ones. Motor Sich appealed to the court to shelve the suit after Antonov confirmed future purchases of 100 Motor Sich engines for 50 An-146/168 planes, contracted before the question of replacing engines arose.

Landkom [LKI LN, HOLD] has completed its winter planting campaign. The Company had sown a total of 28.85 thsd ha in winter crops, which is 35% more than in previous years (21.28 thsd ha). Landkom has planted 12.86 thsd ha in rapeseed, 13.15 thsd ha in winter wheat, 1.91 thsd ha in winter barley, 0.43 thsd ha in mustard, 0.29 thsd ha in rye, and 0.21 thsd ha in forage crops.

The trade balance deficit in 9M10 increased to USD 5.4 bln, while the surplus in the services trade balance in 9M10 rose to USD 4.3 bln. Export of goods in 9M10 added 32.1%, amounting to USD 36.3 bln, while imports added 32.2% and amounted to USD 41.7 bln.

AvtoKrAZ Holding [KRAZ UK] has finished certification procedures and has acquired an ISO 9000:2008 quality certificate, audited by Citech Ukraine B.V, an official representative of TNO (Netherlands). The company was certified upon complying with ISO 9001:2000 standards since 2004.

During 10M 2010, Zaporizhya Automobile Plant [ZAZA UZ], a member of the UkrAVTO Corporation [AVTO UK] decreased its car production by 34% YoY to 34 thsd units. YoY growth in October accounted for over 67%. Car exports accounted for 48% of total production for the period.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has initiated the privatization of a number of companies that were recently excluded from list of strategic enterprises: thermal power stations, subways, aviation companies, machinery plants, coal mines etc.

According to the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine, the electricity consumption is up 10% YoY in 10M2010. In monthly figures the consumption is up 20% MoM in October.

Ukrnafta’s oil and gas condensate production continued to decline in October, although at a slower pace compared to September. In October, output retracted by 1.7% MoM to 206.8 thsd tons, which amounted to 2.1 mln tons of oil and gas condensate in 10M2010, or a decline of 12.7% YoY. Ukraine’s total oil and gas condensate extraction was down 3.7% in October and dropped by 10.8% in 10M10.
