Shareholders of XXI Century, a Ukrainian real estate investment, development and property management company, adopted an emission of new shares and warrants.
In March 2009, cement production in Ukraine decreased 54.6% in comparison to production levels reported in March 2008. Last month’s output equaled 620,000 metric tons. In the same period, slate production in Ukraine dropped by 56.4% to 26 mln tiles.
Heidelbergcement Ukraine, one of the largest cement producers in Ukraine, has announced that in 2008, the company increased its net profit 37.8% YoY to reach UAH 1.136 bln. As the company disclosed to the State Commission on Securities and Stock Market (SCSSM), the gross profit from 2008 rose by 17.6% to UAH 486.294 bln.
Mostobud [MTBD UZ, U/R], the largest bridge construction company in Ukraine, announced that it has reported a net income of USD 1.7 mln. This compares to the results of 2007, when the net loss constituted USD 2.8 mln.
The Dyckerhoff Zement group (Germany) extended the first credit payment to its affiliate cement plant, the JSC ‘Volyn Cement’ [VOLC UZ, U/R] as the first tranche of a line of credit totaling EUR 20 mln.
In January, cement production amounted to 265 thsd metric tons, which is 67.9% lower than achieved in January 2008. The monthly output figure for January 2009 represents a drop of 43.3% from December 2008 levels, according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. That month recorded an output of 467 mln metric tons, which demonstrated a decline of 53.9% YoY.
The Kyiv-based OJSC Mostobud [MTBD UZ, U/R], Ukraine's largest bridge construction company and the general contractor in a project to build a massive bridge in Zaporizhya across the Dnieper River, is in talks with the U.S. Sunland Group Corporation regarding the acquisition of a loan to enable the company to complete its existing construction projects.
The Volyn Cement [VOLC UZ, U/R] plant, a member of the Dyckerhoff Zement group that operates in Zdolbuniv, Rivne Region, announced that it decreased its net profit in 2008 by 21% YoY, which is down to UAH 144.404 mln.
A local court in the Donetsk Region has declared the Doncement company to be bankrupt. The court has initiated the process for the company’s liquidation.
The Ivano-Frankivskcement company [IVFC UZ, N/R] has signed an agreement for the sale of its greenhouse gases quotas to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
